SMS & Messaging
Last updated: May 12, 2026
Vivy is a personal AI travel assistant. We use SMS text messages to verify your account, deliver login codes, send trip coordination updates, and provide real-time assistance during travel. This page describes how SMS works at Vivy.
How You Opt In
SMS opt-in happens in the Vivy iOS app during onboarding. After creating an account, you reach a screen where Vivy asks for your phone number.
After you submit your number and receive a 6-digit verification code via SMS, you reach a verification screen. On that screen, you see this consent text:
"I agree to receive SMS messages from Vivy related to my account and trip activity. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
A toggle next to that text must be turned on. The "Verify" button stays disabled until you both enter the verification code and turn the consent toggle on.
This is the only path to opt in. Consent is recorded with a timestamp, IP address, and consent version in our database when you complete verification.
Opting in is optional. If you do not want to receive SMS from Vivy, you can tap "Skip for now" on the phone capture screen and continue using Vivy without SMS.
What Messages You'll Receive
After opting in, you may receive these types of messages from Vivy:
Verification codes. When you sign in or verify your phone, you receive a 6-digit code by SMS. Example:
"Your Vivy verification code is: 651023."
Trip coordination and assistance. If you text Vivy from your phone, she responds. Example:
"Got your message. Let me look into it. I'll follow up in the app."
Account-related notifications. Occasional account or security messages.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your trip activity. You may receive several messages per day during active trip planning and travel, and infrequently at other times. Verification codes are sent only when you request them by signing in or verifying your phone.
Costs
Vivy does not charge for sending messages. Standard carrier message and data rates apply. Supported carriers include all major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How to Opt Out
Reply STOP to any message from Vivy to immediately unsubscribe. You will receive one confirmation message:
"You've been unsubscribed from Vivy messages. Reply START to resubscribe."
After that, Vivy will not send you any more SMS unless you re-subscribe.
To resubscribe, reply START to the same Vivy number. You will receive a confirmation:
"You've been resubscribed to Vivy messages. Reply STOP at any time to opt out."
You can also disable SMS at any time in the Vivy app under Settings.
How to Get Help
Reply HELP to any message from Vivy for assistance. You will receive:
"Vivy here. I'm a personal travel assistant. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg & data rates may apply. Questions? Email hi@vivy.ai. Terms: vivy.ai/terms. Privacy: vivy.ai/privacy."
You can also email us at hi@vivy.ai.
Group Trip Invites
When a Vivy user invites you to a trip, you may receive a text from your friend (sent from their own phone) with a link to join the trip. These invite messages come from your friend's phone number, not from Vivy. They are not sent through our SMS system.
